Kennedy Road Middle School Teacher of the Year - Kevin Jones

Kevin M. Jones is the band director for grades six through eight at Kennedy Road Middle School in Griffin, Georgia. He brings a passion for music education and student engagement to the classroom, where he cultivates both musical excellence and personal growth in his students.

Mr. Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts in music education from Clark Atlanta University and a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction and Tier I certification in Educational Leadership from Thomas University. He is a dedicated educator who believes in using differentiated instruction and social-emotional learning to reach students in meaningful, research-informed ways.

Throughout his career, Mr. Jones has been recognized for his impact both in and beyond the classroom. He was named a “High 5 for Teachers” finalist by Fox 5’s Good Day Atlanta, selected as the STAR Teacher at Creekside High School, and honored with the “You Inspire Me” award by Creekside’s Order of the Arrow Honor Society. Most recently, he has served as a co-advisor of the Kennedy Road Middle School BETA Club and SGA, was named Kennedy Road Middle School’s Teacher of the Year Runner-Up in 2024 and a Finalist in 2025.

Mr. Jones continues to inspire and empower his students through music, aiming to create a learning environment that honors individuality, fosters discipline, and nurtures creativity.
