I am Mrs. Raye Aragon, and I am honored to serve as an Assistant Principal at Kennedy Road Middle School.  It is my desire to help guide others toward our common goal of educating our children while challenging all stakeholders to learn and grow in the process.

After graduating from the University of Georgia in the field of Agricultural Economics, I obtained what I believed to be a career position in a corporate environment.  As I worked maintaining a daily office routine, I needed a more fulfilling career. I returned to school and took evening classes at Mercer University for teacher certification in middle grades education. I have since earned my Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with Leadership.

Serving the Griffin-Spalding County School System as both an instructional coach and a classroom teacher for the past twenty-five years, I consider my students to be my true accomplishments. As an educator, my role is to assist students in their journey to reach their full potential. As I encounter former students later in life, I have realized they will truly always be mine.  Instead of just having my two natural children, I now have thousands more that make me proud.

At Kennedy Road, we care about our students’ overall welfare as well as their academics. Our teachers are dedicated and professional.  Parents can trust their children to our care.  The entire staff of Kennedy Road Middle School wants students to achieve their true potential and will strive to give students the best education possible.  I want to encourage parents and the entire community to become involved in supporting our school and our students. We must work together to meet our students’ needs and prepare them for what is expected on the next level.  I look forward to the challenge.
